Free Motion Sewing
Today I'm taking a class at Olde World Quilt Shoppe on free motion sewing. I have tried learning this on my own. I know the basics such as how to set up my sewing machine, the basic way free motion sewing is done but I haven't learned how to control myself or the machine for more than 30 seconds. If you ever tried this you know what I mean. It's not easy. I even made an appointment with a lady who knows machines! She is the person who sold me my machine to see if I was doing something wrong. She spent a couple of hours with me and in the end she said I was doing everything right. My machine was working right, I set it up correctly for free motion sewing, tension was good and I understood how to do it. All I needed to do now was practice! Well, I agree! I need to practice but I also think there's more. I believe that how you control your speed is important and how you move your fabric is important. I heard rumor that the teacher teaching this class is one of the best in our area! I'm excited! The owner told me I will leave the class being able to do free motion sewing. I'll let you know how it went.
